Hi, I’m Selena — the floral designer and creative heart behind Wyld Roots Floral, based in Arvada, Colorado.
My journey into floral design came after years of working hands-on in the world of plant care. I’ve spent much of my professional life learning the ins and outs of how plants grow, thrive, and interact with their environment. That deep-rooted experience in horticulture has given me a solid foundation — I don’t just design with flowers, I understand them.
I grew up in a family of artists and always loved painting and illustration. So when I discovered that floral design could be the bridge between my plant knowledge and my love for art, something just clicked. It became clear that this is what I was meant to do — blend nature and creativity into something expressive and meaningful.
I don’t consider myself a traditional florist. My work isn’t about chasing trends — it’s about creating floral designs that are intuitive, wild, and full of personality. I draw inspiration from untamed meadows, natural movement, and emotion. My style is whimsical, dramatic, and a little chaotic in the best way — witchy, wild, and flowy.
Sustainability is a core value in everything I do. I focus on using locally grown flowers as much as possible — not only to reduce waste and support local farmers, but because I truly love the process of learning about flower farming, seasonal varieties, and the science behind each bloom. I’m a plant nerd through and through, and that curiosity keeps my designs fresh, intentional, and deeply connected to the natural world.
As a Sagittarius, I’ve got a free spirit and a love for travel, adventure, and exploration — but I’m also a homebody. Home is my sanctuary. I love to cook, garden, read, and sunbathe whenever I can. Originally from Florida, I’ve called Colorado home for the last seven years. My favorite flower changes with the season, but Magnolias always bring me back to my roots.
